  1. I have an underactive thyroid and with medication you will feel so much better and do not go off it.
  2. I have hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) and it is a condition that runs in my family - my mom, my grandmother, me and most likely my daughter in the future. If you have this problem and are prescribed medication you will more than likely take Synthroid or Levoxyl which will help with fatigue for the most part. I find my condition contributes to poor circulation in my hands and feet (they are always cold!) and sometimes slurring of words. Don't worry, thyroid problems are common. Just make sure you get all of your questions answered by your doctor and pharmacist.
  3. Any suggestions, or thoughts?
  4. the physical problems? Feel I have an underactive thyroid.
  5. Will be seeing Dr next week, but wanting to know....
  6. I have a thyroid problem, and I take thyroid medictaion. It will make you feel 110% better! When I began taking it, I had more energy, I wasn't tired all the time, and I was soo much happier. Definitley talk to your doctor. Hope all goes well.
  7. I know someone who had thyroid problems and she got some kind of medication to take, it made her all better!
  8. Both my husband and my daughter have hypothyroidism caused by celiac disease. My husband doesn't have too much trouble with it. My daughter who is thin and small framed (common for celiacs) has much more trouble. She has a prescription for synthroid and has had unithroid in the past. She doesn't need to take it continuously because if she doesn't get any gluten in her diet her thyroid funtion is fairly good. When she injests wheat though it really throws her off. During those times the medication helps a great deal to steady her body temperature.

If you have digestive complaints, I highly recommend looking into the possibility that your hypothyroid condition could be caused by celiac. If you have this condition, by merely avoiding gluten (wheat, glute, barley, etc) yuo can feel much better.
  9. Levothyroxine. It has worked nice for me and I actually don't need it any more. And it isn't a big horse pill either
