I have a underactive thyroid ! does this mean less fertile !! hard to lose weight ?
I have a underactive throid and I am on pills for life 125mg a day, but I was wondering if I am less fertile and if it is harder for me to lose weight ? thanks

- A person who has UNTREATED hypothyroidism generally does experience some weight gain and abnomal menstrual periods. But if your treatment regimen is working properly, there should be no significant difference between you and anyone else. Those pills are annoying, but they're better than the alternative!
- Even though this books doesn't sound right for you - it has the most informative description of how all the body's hormones effect each other, including the thyroid and estrogen, and I would highly recommend it: "What your doctor may not tell you about breast cancer".
Wish I had this information 2 surgeries ago.

- I take the same dosage daily. I have lost 20 lbs in the last two months. That should not effect your loosing weight at all. I don't know about fertile, I had a vasectomy 30 years ago. I don't think it should effect that either.
