- I have a thyroid problem, it's low. It developed from me losing weight actually.
- thyroid problem is basically the only excuse overweight people have other than being lazy
- then we can determine what percent of people are just fat, lazy, disgusting people that don't take care of them self.
- I heard its only ONE percent of the American population
- What percent of people actually have this?
- giving the other 79 percent of fat Americans no reason to be overweight other than laziness.
- It used to be a much lower perecentage than it is today. I haven't searched any medical info, but it's probably more like 3-4% of the population, occurring more in women. It's probably higher now because of the soy in the diet and the added fluoride in the water. Both fluoride and soy slows down the production of thyroid hormones. With hypothyroidism, there are usually other symptoms besides weight gain such as; low body temp, IBS with constipation, slow heart rate, hairloss, dry skin, muscle & joint aches, fatigue, depression, sleep apnea, ....the list goes on.
Usually a person who is hypothyroid is trying to lose weight. You will often ee them eating less than others and exercising, yet still teir weight stays the same. Having hypothyroidism myself, I know this to be true. Just to maintain my weight, I have to walk 10-15 miles a week. If I don't do at least 10 miles, I gain.
