Hives and underactive thyroid?
12 months ago l found out l have an underactive thyroid.Lately l have been constantly scratching my arms and it looks like hives.A friend mentioned where she read that that there is a connection between these two.l would be interested to hear any feedback.Much appreciated.thank you.

- I am not sure, I really don't think there is a connection between the two. My mom has a under active thyroid and she doesn't get hives. Hives usually indicate an allergic reaction.
- Yes ,your friend is right.I have read that as well, that in some people with an underactive thyroid they can get terrible itching as well as hives . You can ask your dr what to do about it, but I imagine they just treeat the hives-a natural approach is to take cayenne pepper-it helps with hives-good luck to you
- I have an underactive thyroid and have never had hives. If you've recently started a new medication it could be that. Or could it be allergies?
