- Are you saying he has thyroid problems or just been tested? same goes for willi syndrome. Is your Doctor doing more to find out reasons for your son 's weight gain ? How tall is your son? There are alot of questions here that we don't know answers to too be able to answer your question. As for him starting school , I know kids can be mean but there are thingsyou can do to help him build his confidence up, Never make a point infront of him about his disabilities , always use words of encouragement. As a parent I know you probably already do ,but it doesn't hurt to be reminded of this .Get involved with the school so that you know he is not being bullied , my husband and I volunteer for hot lunch days , I'm not fond of doing it but it also lets us see and meet all the kids in the school our little one attends. I wish you and your family the best of luck. I know my son's kindergarten teacher encourages all the children in her class to be friends, she is the best Teacher ever! You will need to get on a very personal level with his teacher to prevent bullying . Good luck and God- bless!
- bullying that goes hand in hand with a shall we say a larger than normal size child. please serious answers only.
- Complete a food diary for your son, it's not always 'what you eat' it's sometimes how much - then take the diaries to a nutritionist (if you go to one first, they'll probably ask you to do these and then come back again)
Whilst you have him at home, you are in control of what and how often he eats - it'll be harder to solve by the time he starts school.
Tested for diabetes?
Keep the pressure on your Doc, if you're not happy get another opinion
Good Luck hon :)
- but his confidence has gone when climbing steps/stairs etc.
- See a Doctor and demand a test for things that he is allergic too...(this is a skin test of 5 to 6 straps on the arm...
- Good luck with it.
There must be something wrong with him, so keep on going to the doctors until an answer is found.
Best Wishes.

- can anyone suggest the next step for us as he will be starting
- Maybe he's just growing naturally, you could take him to see a nutritionist if you're worried.
- Stick with doctors. Ask to see specialists and ask for second opinions. And keep your child active and outdoors, involved in some kind of competitive activity that will encourage high energy output. If you cannot find kids to share this with your son then do it yourself.
Our son has no such problem (touch wood) but every day we play physical games with him like hide and seek (which involves loads of running up and down stairs).
