Has anyone that has a thyroid disorder had a child with a metal and/or physical disability?
My grandmother is concerned that if I concieve , the child will be born with an disability of some kind. She saw a girl on tv that was not able to hold her child because she was born without arms. The girl said that it was because her mother had a thyroid disorder. I believe that if God wants me to have a child that is disabled , than he will give me this special child no matter what. God would never give me anything that I could not handle. Thanks for all of your answers.

- Good grief! I have had a child and I have been on synthroid since I was 15...my mother had three kids and she has taken synthroid since it became available in the late 40s...Needless to say we have all our appendages and braincells are all firing(so far)... .there may be some reasons NOT to have kids a But medically maintained thyroid issue is not one of them. And even if it is not followed medically I doubt seriously that an armless child would be the result...
