What online pet pharmacies are reputable?
I have heard that some online pet pharmacies sell fake or not completely reputable drugs, does anyone know which to avoid? I need levothyroxine (thyroid meds) for my dog, so I really want the correct drug for the best price. Is petcarerx.com ok?

Have a look. This is spread worldwide and has a better stuff service.
- petmeds.com
- I have always used petmeds.com with no problem.
My vet doesn't like that I use them but I have never found anything wrong with their products & they are less than buying direct from my vets office. One time I pruchased products from my vets office & when I got the Rymidal home & opened it I looked at the label & it was past it's expiration date!!!
- Hey Try.
http://jandrugs.com
I found very cost effetive price on this.
It is a reputated Canadian Pharmacy.
- Drugstore.com will fill a prescription for a dog written by a vet. I know cause I asked them because my dog was on a human drug for a while. It's totally reputable and cheap. Don't know your dog's dosage but here's the price for levothyroxine 25mg is 8.99 for 30 pills, 90 pills is $20. Ask your vet to write you a prescription or they can contact your vet if you provide your vet's info to them. I've used them and really like them. The shipping cost is 1.49 a bottle and you can buy it every 3 months vs monthly.
Here's the email they sent me when I first asked them about filling my pets prescription:
"drugstore.com does fill prescriptions for medications intended for pets. Laws that regulate prescriptions for humans also apply to animal prescriptions and the ordering process is the same. Please note there must be a human equivalent to the drug prescribed to your pet. We cannot fill prescriptions for medications that are only available to veterinarians or designated only for use in animals.
The following regulations also apply to prescriptions made out to pets:
* The prescription must be written by a veterinarian.
* The species must be identified.
* You cannot use insurance to pay for prescriptions for your pet.
* Your pet must have a last name listed in their Health Profile. Please include your pet's name and species in the first name field (example: Spot DOG or Fluffy CAT) and the owner's last name in the last name field.
To order your prescriptions, return to drugstore.com and click the Pharmacy tab. Once you have reached the Pharmacy home page, click the place new prescription orders option. On the following page, choose the medication you would like to purchase and add it to your cart. When all of the medications have been added to your cart, you may proceed to checkout. During the checkout process you will:
1. Create a health profile
2. Provide additional prescription information
3. Choose a payment option
4. Continue through checkout to complete your order
During step 2, you will have the opportunity to choose how your prescription will be sent to us. The four ways drugstore.com accepts prescriptions are:
1. You or the veterinarian can mail the prescription to us.
2. Your veterinarian can call or fax the prescription to us.
3. drugstore.com can transfer the existing refills from your local pharmacy.
4. You may have drugstore.com contact the veterinarian to obtain the prescription."
I also like entirelypets.com but not sure they fill "human" meds. I buy my flea meds from them.
- You really should get it from your vet. He/she knows the animal and knows the proper amounts for them. If you buy from an online place you have to pay shipping, usually, which makes it cost about the same as your vet's anyway, and you don't get the personal care the vet gives you. (petmeds.com actually costs MORE than my vet charges, and shipping is additional!)
- I have had a very good experience ordering from Dr. Foster and Smith. They sent brand name product that was fresh and they had the best price, that was legal in the US.
- I have used www.bullwrinkle.com for years and never had any problems.
