  1. Well, I'm sorry, but I think the cat is just getting old. I'm of course no vet, so you should definately see one, but I think it's Kind of like an old person: Sick all the time and sorta cranky.
  2. 17 is pretty old for a cat. You might want to schedule a vet visit to see what the problem could be. You don't want him to suffer.

    Good luck! :)
  3. Definitely take him to the vet. It may be that time. Sorry if it is. If he is losing weight and is in pain when you pick him up I would get him to the vet ASAFP.
  4. Please take your cat to the vet. It sounds like it is just old age but it is important you get him seen to in order to make sure everything is alright and that he is not in any pain. Crying is often an indication of pain and/or discomfort.

I hope he gets better soon!!
  5. I'd take him to the vet to check it out. Also ask about the possibility that he may have worms.
  6. many different things may be causing the problems you are describing. To find out, please take him to a vet. The vet will diagnose his problem and suggest a course of action. Good Luck!
  7. there could be other things wrong with him not just thyroid, my cat lived until 18 so he has a few more years in him yet. if hes crying when picking him up id suggest taking to the vets sounds like something in the stomach area or digestive area.. im not a vet but I hope this helps.
  8. Schedule a time to see the vet. Kitty is becoming older now, and 17 is a lot. Your vet will help you out to know what is best for him. If he is in no pain right now, vet visits are good to do, to keep him in top shape as he is aging.

If the condition that kitty has is untreatable, then your vet may suggest to put him to sleep, free of illness. This is the most humane way for cats who suffer from illnesses, to die. Sorry to say, but it's true.

Do get a vet check first though. See what she/he says. :-).
  9. If he's still eating well, a regular checkup at the vet would be a good idea.
  10. You are going to take him to the vets aren't you?

My main concern would be crying when you pick him up - this along with the gurgling in his tummy indicates there is a problem there, though without having him professionally examined it is impossible to say what.

Any changes in the health of a 17 year old cat should not be taken lightly.
