Muscle cramps?

I have been having muscle cramps everywhere on my body. Went to the doc and potassium, magnesium, calcium, thyroid, all came out alright. He took me off my meds thinking that might be the problem, but still having muscle cramps. I have them in the legs at nite and during the day I get cramps on my back, side and where my ovaries use to be. I drink plenty of water. Could this be a sign of something more serious?

  1. I had a hysterectomy 4 years ago. I was on a calcium channel blocker b.p. and he changed my meds to a beta blocker. The blood work showed my b.p. meds was not causing cramps. As soon as I lie down my leg cramps start and during the day I get them on my upper body. My body is tired and a little weak since I don't sleep too well at nite. This has happened to me a year ago, and the dr put me on magnesium and potassium and the cramps went away after 2 days. He gave me magnesium and potassium 1 1/2 weeks ago and still cramps. I sneeze, cough or move the wrong way and cramp. Thanks for any responses to my question.
  2. Did you have a hysterectomy recently? The site below has information about complications after hysterectomies, but if your doctor checked you out I don't know if it's pertinent. What were your meds for and why did your doctor think they might be involved? Maybe it's just a case of waiting for those meds to clear your system.

Do you walk daily? Light exercise might ease your cramping. Stretch your hamstrings, glutes and quadriceps after walking to help alleviate cramping. Keep checking with your doctor, because you haven't included all the information here.
  3. just relax, don't put any extra substances in your body, they don't help. don't drink too much water either.
  4. maybe but check on the bones this time
  5. sounds like it
