  1. Have the doc do another TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) test on you...you may need to adjust your dose. Also, make sure you always take your meds regularly.
  2. Most hypothyroidics feel slow and out of enerygy.I recommend you to get your routine blood check ups regularly and let your doc adjust the amount of the hormons you're using. You might still have hypothyroid and that may be the cause of your being out of energy.Apart from that, you may have lack of some minerals like iron in your blood.Better consult wth your doc.

  3. I am taking 50mcg of synthroid but my doc put me on b-12 shots too. Ask your doc if they would be detrimental in any way to your health problems. If they wouldnt hurt they give you energy (beware tho they make you hungry).
  4. CFS is closely related to you thyroid problem. Below are some natural remedies I use for my clients.

The natural approach to the treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome involves a long and gentle process to help re-build the immune system and help the body to detoxify itself. Consult your healthcare professional for more information.

In times of ill-health, your nutrient requirements increase. A multi-vitamin and mineral formula should be added to your diet, even if it is healthy and well-balanced

Magnesium is important for proper muscle function and may help to relieve muscle pain and stiffness

Vitamin C A low-acid formula is recommended for those with a sensitive stomach; other antioxidant nutrients such as selenium and vitamin E are also recommended

Co-enzyme Q10 is involved with the production of energy in cells

Echinacea is a herb with a proven ability to improve immunity and improve resistance to infection

Herbs which support kidney and liver function are milk thistle, dandelion, cleavers and nettle. They may be prescribed for those patients in need of detoxification

If you have aches etc like most then I recommend Blackmores Lyprinol, it is a natural anti inflammatory and very effective. Go here http://www.jentleearthhealing.com/supple... and click on the link to obtain it from an online healthfood store here in Oz, good prices.

    Hope this helps.

  5. Lots of water. Take the pill on an empty stomach and don't eat for about a half an hour. Get your doc to test your other hormones since thyroid problems are a part of the endocrine system. Check testosterone, progesterone and estrogen levels. I would bet a hundred bucks they are all off a bit. Women need the testosterone for muscle tone and our bodies normally produce it but with your thyroid in slow motion, and the pills not being utilized by your system the way they should be, you will need testosterone in a cream treatment. Walgreens does these by the way. Many pharmacies don't.

I have had Graves, goiter, thyroidectomy's (yes, that has an s on it, I had 2 removals) and now I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis with nodules. My thyroid has grown three times in all! The docs around here are amazed.

Oh..and the type of pill you are taking might make a difference. Synthroid as opposed to Levothyroxine. Which ever one you are on, try the other, wait two weeks before forming an opinion as to any difference between them for you.

I was on Synthroid but switched because the Levois cheaper and low and behold...it worked better!!!

You can contact me through my website if you need to talk. I am 45 and have had thyroid issues since I was 8 so I know EVERYTHING you need to know about this! My mother, her sisters (5), all my female cousins (14 of them) and my only daughter ALL have thyroid trouble. It is genetic unless caused by radiation exposure.

Don't go to a general practitioner for this, go to an endocrinologist if you don't already. Get your T3, T4, TSH and Uptake done every 3 months and once every two years get an ultrasound done.

Don't eat soy products as this inhibits thyroxine uptake.

Good Luck and feel free to ask me anything about your conditions!
