I have Hashimotos or hypothyroid. I am still tired all the time does anyone have advice?

I need to know what others with hypothyroid are doing or taking to give them energy. Possibly what kind of foods or vitamins might help.

  1. Go to your doctor for a TSH test. It will tell you how low your thyroid count is . If it is low the dr. can give you synthroid.
  2. First get your morning TSH aroumd 1.0. If it's been around 1.0 for a long time, then its time to try a natural thyroid med like Armour. Armour has been around longer than Synthroid. When Synthroid was developed, it was pushed by the drug reps and more doctors started to use Synthroid. Many people are switching to Armour because they are finding they feel better with both T4 and T3. Synthroid is only T4. Below are links on the subject.

As far as supplements.....selenium, zinc, and ltryosine hekp with the conversion of T4 into T3.

Stay away from fluoride and soy

  4. Hypothyroid is most treatable. Synthroid will restore your thyroid levels to normal and should help restore your energy. Doctors can prescribe the hormones you need to correct your problem. Your problem is easily corrected with proper medical care. See your doctor soon, and get it taken care of. Good luck!
  5. You need to talk to your dr.
The only way to help is taking synthroid or synthetic thyroid hormone.
  6. I knew a woman who swears that she cured her hypothyroid simply by elevating her feet while she slept at night. She put a couple of phone books under her mattress by the feet and slept with just 1 pillow and is convinced that the extra blood flow was all it took to cure her in 1 month's time.

I had over active thyroid for a couple years and I found Louise Hay's book "You Can Heal Your Life" to be the most helpful thing for me. Here's a link: http://www.amazon.com/you-can-heal-your-... Best of luck to you!

    Peace!
