- Are you on medication for your hypothyroidism? That should be helping. If not, then you really need to speak to your doctor. Are you drinking plenty of water. 2 liters of water a day helps break down the fat and absorb nutrients. Try adding green tea, at least one 8 oz glass every day. Its so good for you. And don't drink diet soda, they make you crave high calorie food and drink. I have heard really good things about Nutri-system, if you can afford it, or maybe e-diets.com. Weight loss is so hard, especially for women. Just try to do it healthy and it will pay off. Best of luck to you.

- I am looking for other means of weight reduction (other than surgery) & any suggestions for low impact exercise. As well as meal suggestions for a small budget. Also sources for this info.
- I definitely feel your pain. I am 5'3" and I weigh 180 I have not been formally diagnosed but I have never had a weight problem until now. I am an army vet and I used to run 5 miles a day, but one day I woke up and I was heavy. I dont eat a lot of junk and I have just recently started exercising again. I have terrible pain after exercising almost to the point of not being able to walk but I dont want to be heavy anymore so I bear through the pain and workout. I think that you are off to a good start but the only thing I would change is that you should cook your own food rather than the frozen foods. I eat those meals as a last resort. I also would recommend swimming because it will alway for healing of your joints and not cause anymore injury and you will get a better workout. I use to swim but I will be going back to it for the same reasons I gave you. I also have what they call gerd so I have eliminated the sodas, and limited the sugars and sweets and increased intake of chicken, and green leafy veggies. I would also eliminate eating after 6pm. I use to scoff at the idea but I now realize the benefits of doing this.
- On the low-carb forum I'm a member of, many of the people claim that a low-carb diet has helped their PCOS
There is a section on the forum just for those dealing with PCOS
http://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdisplay....
and with thyroid disease
http://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdisplay....
There is also a section for those of us who need to lose more than 100 pounds.
http://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdisplay....
as well as a section devoted to exercise. There have been many threads devoted to LCing on a budget, you can search for them or just ask and you will get lots of suggestions. The people there are very helpful and supportive.
Hope this is helpful.
- Leave the weights alone and increase your walking. You should be doing 2 miles. Not talking about a stroll here! Put some a** into it! Lay off the carbs...ALL carbs after 5pm. You aren't going to burn them. Eat lean protein and about 2 cups of green, steamed veggies or a big leafy salad--veggies only--for dinner. (I love Just2Good dressings by WishBone!)
The goal would be to do 2 miles in the morning and 2 miles. Then just keep increasing.
Check with your thyroid doctor and make sure that your level is in normal range. I assume you are on something like Tapazole? Ask the doc if it needs to be increased?
- My current exercises include walking 45 mins a day (approx a mile), arm curls with light weights in the morning & evening & the occasional (three times a week or less) side of the bed crunches. Usually 20-30 before my hernirated disc starts acting up or the Ibuprophin 800's wear off.
