  1. My friend has this. He just takes a pill everyday.
  2. First confirmation of Grave's disease is necessary. Serum antibodies should be measured. If confirmed take anti-thyroid drugs. If not responding, recurrent, severe , if trachea is compressed, large, or irregular or nodular in shape (Thyroid), you may require subtotal thyroidectomy.(Surgery).Radio active iodine might be used.
Generally you require , rest, sedatives, vitamins, psychotherapy. If there are complications they should be treated. So consult an Endocrinologist earlier.
  3. of course. but aren't there any treatments to regulate hormone levels

  5. With the proper treatment (I.e.:Propanolol; methimazole; propylthiouracil; radioactive iodine; surgical resection etc.) it could be brought under control yes! They need to get you "euthyroid".
  6. Go see an endocrinologist ASAP. When my thyroids were out of control, I too had the same symptoms. I needed a medication to correct the deficiency. On the other hand, my son had the opposite and had 80% of his glands removed. It made a world of difference to both of us. Get it done and get it over with.
