Thyroid question?

I went to my family doctor and after taking blood work he said that my thyroid gland isn't taking producing enough of a hormone whatever that hormone is called that is released from there.Could this be why I feel I have stoped growing? keep in mind im 18 now and feel I haven't gone through a growth spurt! could this be a possible reason?

  1. Be sure to start eating wel and have enough iodine in you body. Many people are low in iodine. Check your iodine levels or start taking extra kelp at least 3 capsules a day. Ask your octor to recheck you in 6-8 weeks and see if your levels are improved. Avoid stress and ...Do not forget to take it easy and spoil yourself. For more info see source.
  2. an underactive thyroid will cause ur bodies functions to slow down but as for u not growing anymore, its possible I guess but if ur a guy u should still grow til ur in ur mid 20s or something I think. I wouldnt worry too much about it. u can take medication to help ur thyroid function the way its supposed to.
  3. maybe, but thyroids work weirdly!!! is that really a word?
oh well, I had the same problem, but my thyroid caused me to gain a ton of weight because it was not functioning properly, the doctor can prescribe a drug that will give it a little boost....
