Hormone tests?

Hi,

  1. I am a GP
  2. I would still have them done if I was you. thyroid disorders can cause period irregularities and would need treating anyway irrespective of your period. In addition your doc may be checking to see if you have polycystic ovary syndrome. It doesn't matter if you are bleeding
  3. I am 26 years old and I went to see my gp a few days ago as I hadn't had a period for 3 months and had been getting a lot of pains on the left side of my abdomen. My Gp said she wanted to take some bloods to check my hormone levels and my thyroid as well. I am suppose to be going this afternoon in 4 hours to get these blood tests taken and I have now come on my period today. Do I still go for these blood tests so they can still check my hormones or is it irrelevant now because I have come on my period or would they still need to check them anyway and would they be able to do this now as I am on my period would it make a difference?
  4. Any help would be much appreciated
  5. anyway, the blood test is good for u actually because they could provide you the more accurate answer on what had actually happended on you. there are actually many possible that your could face this kind of problem include the abnormal of yoor hormone level due to extreamly strees or taken some medicine. I would strongly suggest you to have a medical check.
