- heart rate increase sweating anxiety...palpitation,...thing... like tat
- I'm on Synthroid and have my TSH levels checked regularly. If your TSH is high it means you are hypothyroid--not getting enough thyroid hormone. My latest test showed my TSH level to be low--a .3 . They say normal TSH levels are between .5 and 5. If it is too low like mine, you are hyperthyroid.
- TSH is a hormone that your brain releases when you don't have enough thyroid hormone (TH) circulating around. Hence, when your TSH is high, it means that you may have low TH. And vice versa: when your TSH is low, you may have high TH.
Your TH basically regulates your metabolism. If you have too much TH (hyperthyroidism), you can suffer from weight loss, fatigue, hyperactivity, irritability, heart problems, osteoporosis, and possibly a stroke related to the heart problems.
On the other hand, if you have too little TH (hypothyroidism), you may have obesity, high cholesterol, thinning hair (especially thinning of the outer 1/3 of the eyebrows), memory impairment, depression, and possibly coma.
If your TSH is within the normal range (as written on the lab results), then your level of thyroid hormone is normal, generally speaking. Your doctor is best qualified to look over your lab results and adjust your therapy as needed.
