  1. Go see a thyroid specialist for a thorough check up, who can advise you. He can suggest a non-synthetic thyroid substitute such as Armour thyroid.
  2. try Levoxyl - it might helg
  3. When your thyroid is underaction, your system has to over matabolize to try to bring things back to normal, which causes you to feel hungrier. Now that your levels are normal, you no longer feel that same sense of hunger and appetite. It likely your bodies way of telling you to cut back from the way you were eating when you were out of balance. I have dealt with thyroid issues my entire life, since the age of 16 (now 43) and have found that whenever my appetitie picks up, I know my thyroid is out of whack. You can fix the problem by switching from synthroid (synthetic) to Armour (natural) thyroid medicine. Its the only med that ever made any difference for me. Now, my appetite is pretty normal. I try to eat small, frequent meals, as opposed to three big ones. Good luck!
  4. You probably need to seek an alternative medication, so see your doctor. Another thing to add is a digestive enzyme. Take one 10 minutes before you eat, or if you cannot afford to buy them at this time 2 tablespoons of fresh squeezed lemon juice will do the same thing.(You can add a little water but not too mucy) You are trying to get your digestive tract ready for food.
  5. The best thing to do is either stop taking it or switch. You should be talking to a doctor about this because any prescription drug can be really damaging to your health. But I'd definitely see your doctor and soon!! Good Luck!!!
  6. What do you mean "my levels are supressed almost to none existent"? If you have non existent levels of any thyroid hormones, your levels are in no way right. You are very sick. You need to go back to your doctor for further testing and medication adjustment or changes.
  7. Ah thanks Beebs!!
  8. What could be happening, and how can I treat it --I prefer HERBAL appetite remedies if they exist... :)
