Is there anyone else in the world who takes 200mcg of Synthroid?
I have had Hashimoto's Disease since I was 21 and doctors just keep raising my Synthroid dose...is there anyone else like this out there? I have never been at a stable dose for more than 1 year....I am still very forgetful and very nervous after I take my pill each morning. Any help is appreciated!

- My doctor even thought I was skipping pills each day and I never ever have skipped. I even have a pill container that says "morning" "night" etc. Or he thought I was taking it with food or vitamins and I do not.....
- I take 125 and that's up from 100 last year. It all depends on your TSH reading. I'm guessing your doctor does a blood draw to increase the meds.
- Currently I'm on 225mcg of Synthroid. I've been hypothyroid for years. My mother had Hashimoto's also. I too have had the dosage raised for the past 3 years and take my pills daily. When I was on an alternating dosage it helped to have one of those pill boxes for a week. It helped to remember to take to correct daily dose. Just set it up and you can easily tell if you forgot a dose.
- I have been taking 50mcg. for over 10 years and have never had a problem. You should probably listen to your doctor. you must need that much. They take blood tests which show your level of thyroid hormone and that is how they distinguish your dosage.
