I am taking the proper dose of Synthroid, but at times, my heart races.?

My Synthroid levels are correct, but at any trigger my heart will race. It seems like a panic attack, but I am not anxious. If I exercise my rate stays high for hours. I really notice this during hot weather. Will Inderal helps with this? Has anyone else had this problem? I have has Grave's disease for 11 years.

  2. I have had Hashimoto's, (which is low thyroid) (auto immune) for about nine years and I have the same problems. I do get anxios sometimes though. I also do the same after exersice. My thyroid has been very hard to keep in the right range though. With it being auto immune, the antibodies attack and put thyroid into my system when I am already taking the right amount. I am not sure if Graves is auto immune or not but when I was confused and couldn't find answers, I found the thyroid foundation and they sent me all kinds of info. They are really good about informing you on what you need to know. Good luck.
  3. Talk to your Endocrinologist or Family Physician. High-Anxiety? I was very hyper.....GAD, and put on 10mg of Lexapro and feel much better. I've had Graves for 6 years or so.....and my thyroid was removed last September. I take 150mg of Synthroid.
  4. ok, for something this serious I really wouldn't ask a bunch of morons on the net, ask your doctor.
