- do you work out? people use t3 aka synthroid to help them lose weight. not only will it cause you to lose fat, but also muscle. people start at 25 mg for 3 days, and work their way up to 50 or 75 per day for about 3 weeks. ramping up and then down. sounds to me like you need to try other things first. You can possibly mess up your thyroid or have your hair fall out if you arent careful.
- Sythroid is a RX drug for low thyroid hormone. It is not meant to be used for weight loss. But to bring your thyroid function back to normal levels. If you have a low Thyroid, get to your Doctor and have aTSH blood test done. If needed the Doctor will prescribe the Synthroid and in the correct dosage. Why would you have stopped taking Synthroid 10 Years ago, Once you are diagnosed with with low thyroid you should be on Synthroid for the rest of your life. I would suggest you get to your Doctor ASAP and have this taken care of. And this time stay on Synthroin or Levothroxin for the rest of your days.
- If you are serious about losing the weight you need to take responsibility for losing it rather than depending on some or other drug to help.
Taking drugs to lose weight does not change your mental picture of yourself... it does not change how you feel about yourself.
Rather decide to take personal responsibility and do something constructive.
If you need extra help to find out why you have put on all this weight you could try energy therapy. EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a great therapy to help people with weight issues and is totally drug free. You can also learn how to do it yourself so you don't have to keep going to a therapist.
You can find out more from the web sites below.
Good luck with getting back on track and helping yourself.
- I just can't remember the mg I was given, though.
- What were the results?
- if you took synthyroid you must have a thyroid problem, go back to your doctor and have your blood tested. if you are having trouble losing this my be your problem. Try a cleansing diet! I did and lost 11 pounds and 21 inches in only 9 days. I was very happy with the results and continued on the program and lost 29 pounds in 5 weeks. This is the fastest I have ever lost with other diets like Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Medifast, Slimfast etc…. Cleansing works by removing impurities from your body. You get impurities from your food (pesticides, preservatives, food additives, colorings) water, chemicals, pollution, medications, alcohol, hormones that the animals you eat were fed etc….YUCK! The impurites get coated with fat and remain in your body. To remove the fat, you have to remove the impurites. This system worked for me, maybe it can work for you too. You can check out the website or call this toll free number 1-877-587-4647 for more info. The program is not cheap, but it is worth every penny since it works and keeps you motivated. Good luck! - Has anyone ever used Synthroid or any other thyroid replacement?
- When you use synthroid and have a healthy thyroid. You will become hyperthyroid, and your body will signal to your thyroid to produce less hormones. This may be the problem you are now experiencing from your previous use. Synthroid is a synthetic version of thyroid hormones that controls your metabolism.
I am on thyroid medication, and when my dose is too high I will have heart palpations, anxiety, increased appetite, and trouble sleeping which leads to fatigue. It does not jump start me, being at a higher dose than I need to be. The first time my dose was too high I lost 10 lbs in a month with anxiety attacks, next time it occurred I had no weight loss at all but had all the other symptoms.
You should have a thyroid test and see if you need to take thyroid medication.
The amount that is safe to use can only be determined by blood tests.
- you cannot get synthroid without a prescription. and it is dangerous to take without a blood test to determine if or what you are laking. you can deplete your bone calcium.
Read the glycemic index it will help you understand food
I also used Well Bet X with mullberry (a type of fiber that takes up so much space you can't eat- no hype stuff in it-it's cheaper on line
- I need to have enough "get up and go" to get my exercise jump started...
- Hello, I answered this question on the other post on this same thread. You did not mention in it that you were given the drug before, was it by a physician? if so what was the reason it was prescribed? Do you have low thyrodism? If you do you need to see a physician again, immediately and get an evaluation, there are many other complications if you have low thyrodism other than weigh gain that could be potentially life threatening.
If however some doctor prescribed the pills as a weight loss alternative that would be a very rash thing to do, or if you obtained them by other means, such as purchase from Mexico etc and used them with out them being prescribed.
In other words, do not take synthyroid or any other thyroid replacement hormone unless you have a thyroid condition and in that case follow the recommendations of your physician as to the strength of the drug and frequency and period of use.
