Synthroid?

Has anyone been on Synthroid then switched to generic? And did it work the same? My doctor says it won't...but it would be more affordable to get generic at Walmart ($4!!!) right now.

  1. The FDA says it is the same.

You already don't trust this doctor. Run away.
  2. Come right out and ask her why she doesn't care for generics. Also, ask your pharmacist. No need to be confrontational...You just want to know. My Doc switches to generics as soon as they are out. I think she realizes that many people can't afford medicine and if you can't afford it, you won't buy it AND you will be without the benefits that medicine will give you.
  3. I dont know the right answer but here is an interesting article with some good info for you:

  4. I take a generic and it works just fine. If you are unsure, ask a pharmacist. They know the chemical make-up of drugs better than any doctor.
  5. I really doubt her as a doc, and I'm changing her soon...I also work for her and anytime someone wants to switch to generic to save money she's very hesitant.
