  4. If your doctor performed a blood test and checked your (TSH) and it shows that your thyroid production is too low.. You do need to start treatment. Sometimes a community may have a clinic for the people, that have jobs but cannot afford insurance... (if that is the insurance problem)...
People with hypothyroidism may have the following symptoms... thay may become overweight, easily exhausted. and subject to recurrent infection. They may also experience menstrual disorders, intolerance of cold, dry skin and hair. Prolonged hypothyroidism ... will cause signs of reduced general body functioning.
  5. No, you can't go without synthroid. If you don't take it there is a possiblity of lapsing into a coma or even worse.
  6. thyroid hormone regulates the rate metabolism in all cells of the body. Without thyroid hormone, you will become extremely weak and have difficulty staying alert. You're skin and hair will become dry and coarse, and you'll have problems with constipation, thin bones, and muscle atrophy. It can also cause your extremities and stomach swell with fluid. It can become life-threatening with heart & lung failure.

If you are having any of these problems or know that you have low thyroid hormone, you need to see your doctor or your health will suffer
  7. This would have to do with insurance issues. Just curious.
