Is there any relation between the thyroid problems and Paget's disease?

The patient is of 43 years age had undergone mastectomy in Jan'07 following paget's disease. But in march she has been detected to be suffering from hypothyroidism with T3=40.7 ,T4=0.7 and TSH >150

  1. One thing for sure. A TSH 150 sounds like totally severe and needs immediate medical attention. I cant imagine the person still functioning at all.
  2. First of all, I'm not sure why the patient had a mastectomy due to Paget's. Paget's is a disease of the bone. Plus, to correct the other person that answered, It is quite possible to function w/a TSH level of that nature, however it should be addressed by an endocrinologist. Synthroid or another levothyroxine replacement will likely be prescribed. This person should consult his/her physician, especially if they are symptomatic. Being hypo is definitely no fun.
