Has anyone switched their thyroid medication from levothyroxine to amour or added a t3 and had better results?

I've been on levothyroxine for almost 3 years, at 100mg...they say my levels are where they should be, but I just don't feel "right" not to mention the tough time I'm having losing weight, despite legitimate efforts...I have an appt tomorrow and I wanted to discuss "armour" or any others people have tried with better results... I'd appreciate any experience with these anyone has had....

  1. YES.
I was on synthroid (levothyroxine) for several years and still battling chronic fatigue to the point of being unable to function.

I found treatment at a fibromyalgia and fatigue center where they did extensive thyroid testing and placed me on T3.
I now take Armour and do much better overall. I have lost a little weight over time, but not a huge amount. I hope you get your thyroid leveled out. It will make such a huge difference.
  2. I've actually done both. First I was on Levoxyl alone, which did nothing for my symptoms. Then I tried adding a small amount of Cytomel (T3) to the Levoxyl and I saw many improvements. I was on the combo for about 2 years and then I just decided I'd like to try ARmour and switched doctors. I've been on Armour for 3 years now and 95% of my symptoms are gone. The only real symptoms I have now are ridged fingernails and cold feet at night. Those 2, I can live with. Below are some Armour related websites. You can contact me through yahoo if you like.
