Thyroid- TSH is (.085) Dropped Medication Dose?First off, this is a wonderful site with useful information! Thanks to all the yahoo participants! As you can see, my throid level was low--which produces high levels of hormone which made me the medical term :hyperthyroid. I was on .1 synthyroid..and now dropped to .5 to make my levels more normal. 1) I have been having major eye muscle problems, headaches--just came back from eye dr and he said I am seeing double due to my muscles in right eye not functioning..is this related to thyroid? 2) I see it like this-the .085 is very very low--was that dangerous? 3)What makes my thyroid level flucuate so much when I am 38? Thanks! Doctors comments very much welcomed. Eye doctors too! Scared in Chicago!

Thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH)?I'm 23 yrs/female my TSH test says 0.05 I would like to know what does this mean n how does affect my health

How does eating yogurt affect thyroid hormone levels?I've been taking levothyroxine for several years now. In January, my doctor decided to increase my dosage from 0.25 mcg to 0.5 mcg. On Saturday, April 21st, I began eating a cup of yogurt, Dannon's Activia brand, a day. This past Friday afternoon, I started feeling hot, and my stomach felt unsettled. I also remember being hungrier than usual between my midmorning snack of yogurt and lunchtime that day. Could eating the yogurt in combination with taking the 0.5 mcg of levothyroxine cause these symptoms? I've read that yogurt contains iodine, which can increase thyroid hormone production. I haven't taken another levothyroxine tablet since that morning and would like to start back in case my thyroid levels become too low before my appointment on May 15th to have my blood checked. I have not had the symptoms again since Friday. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated!

I always feel really tired, what gives?I've been energy - less for maybe 6 years (I'm only 25) and I don't know why. I exercise 3-5 times a week and have a pretty decent diet. I get about 7-9 hours a night. I've talked to my doctors about this and they have done the usual tests for diabetes, thyroid, hormone levels, and they never find anything! I don't have any other symptoms, just never energetic and wiped out a lot. The only time I feel OK is when I'm drinking alcohol. Coffee doesn't really help me, exercise makes me feel good while I'm doing it, really tired after.

It's been two months and I have been through the radioactive iodine and I was in quarantine for the three days, then home for another week where I couldn't be around anyone for any real length of time. I know everyone is different, but I was just wondering if anyone else has been there and still on-going problems and what to do about them. The nurse told me for the rest of my life I will have to have a blood test every 6 weeks!! Any other symtoms anyone else had that I can look for?, and what to do for them besides from a Dr's view. I have looked on web sites, but I would like to hear some answers from anyone who has gone through this.

Thyroid Hormone replacement meds...?I was diagnosed a little over a year ago with Graves disease...hyperthyroidism. I put on about 200 lbs and lost about 100 of those 200 and then gained about 50 of it back after I had my thyroid removed in April of '06. I am currently taking synthroid to replace the hormone. My question is how long does it take to regulate the meds so Im not changing the dosage every 6 weeks and what else can I take to boost my metabolism and energy since the meds arent really helping in that situation. And forget the gym, my dr. says its still too risky for me to do any type of exercising...even walking. And my second question is since I cant get into see the dr. to have my meds refilled because she is never around and Im out of meds tomorrow what are the side effects of not taking the meds and how long do I have before my health seriously starts to worsen. Ive been feeling sick for the past 2 days and Im afraid its just going to get worse with the lack of meds. Thanks for your time...

Type 1 diabetic multiple medications?OK, I am not looking for advice on how to eat, exercise etc, etc I see my diabetes educator 3 times a week , my Endocrinologist every 2 months plus my internal medicine doc. So I am well taken care of, I have been a type 1 diabetic for 12 years and 4 years ago I had a baby and was diagnosed with Graves disease soon after her birth. I have had the radioactive iodine treatment for my thyroid because my glucose levels were so high; I have changed my insulin for the old R & NPH to the Novolog and Lantus. My glucose levels are still high we have seen a small drop in the levels going from an average of 400-600 down to 200-400 usually in the high 300 to low 400 is where we are at now. I have had T-3 &T-4 blood tests and the thyroid hormone is pretty much gone we have not started the replacement hormone yet. Now this being said I had a talk with my internal medicine doctor a couple of days ago and he wants to put me on a medication that people with type 2 diabetes use. Is this normal, I have never heard of this and was wondering if anyone else had. If anyone knows someone who has done this or what the results might be.

Premature Ovarian Failure and/or Thyroid problems?I'm 26 and I've already had thyroid problems (radioactive iodine treated in 2005) and currently on thyroid hormones. The thyroid didn't effect my periods at all originally. But the last year I've had screwed up (missed or every 3-4 months) periods. I've been going to the doctor for it and after some bloodwork they are suggesting it might be Premature Ovarian Failure (POF) although still trying some other things first so not really diagnosed at this point. Anyone with thyroid problems been in a similar situation? or had missed period and possible POF that turned out not to be POF?
