I am wondering what could cause slightly higher free T3 level and TSH still staying in the normal range. I have symptoms that could be associated with high thyroid hormone. My heart beat feel so fast after a little excersise and shortness of breath appear at the same time with fast heart beat. its hard to sleep sometimes when the symptom appears. Trying to conceive, long cycles and confused about BBT?My husband and I have been trying to conceive. I have long cycles (50 day) so I have been on progesterone cream to try and regulate things. First month I used was 40 days, second was 22 days and now - after my husband and I did our best to conceive this month, I haven't seen a sign of a period, I feel preg but preg test is neg and I have a low BBT (not that it reached anywhere over 34.4 this month. Could I still be pregnant? Is the low BBT temp because I only take the cream on days 12-26, and could this be affecting my chances at falling? Also, does anyone know if the low BBT is connected to hypothyroidism? My Naturopath previously gave me stuff for my thyroid to help with hormone production? Can anyone help or give advice. I think I have a thyroid condition that's causing hair shedding.............?I think that's it...My hair grows like water and is in good condition, I had a little over an inch cut a week ago and the stylist made several comments on the condition of my hair but it's shedding and has been doing so for over a year...I don't see what else it could be this isn't typical in my blood line, I was born with thick hair and even my Grandmother has thick hair still...What do you'll think...have you ever been through this and found out the reason for shedding...what can cause shedding please list some things before I go make an appointment...has anyone ever discovered that they had a thyroid condition causing shedding?

Yet, I am going in to see an endocrinologist since I know something ISNT normal. From this alone it is obvious that something is not right with my thyroid gland...however, there is something else that I wasn't sure may have an influence. Can missing just one day of Synthroid (thyroid medication) cause palpitations, shakiness and fatigue?I ran out of my Synthroid yesterday, the last time I took it was about 36 hours ago, I didn't think missing one dose would make a difference. I started getting really strong hunger pains (which is odd for me) this evening, once I ate I got very fatigued, my heart is palpitating and I feel like my legs are falling out from under me. It is hot today and I did drink an extra cup of coffee, do you think it's the heat and coffee or can missing a dose of thyroid meds cause you to feel horrible like this in just one day?

Trying to conceive, long cycles and confused about BBT?My husband and I have been trying to conceive. I have long cycles (50 day) so I have been on progesterone cream to try and regulate things. First month I used was 40 days, second was 22 days and now - after my husband and I did our best to conceive this month, I haven't seen a sign of a period, I feel preg but preg test is neg and I have a low BBT (not that it reached anywhere over 34.4 this month. Could I still be pregnant? Is the low BBT temp because I only take the cream on days 12-26, and could this be affecting my chances at falling? Also, does anyone know if the low BBT is connected to hypothyroidism? My Naturopath previously gave me stuff for my thyroid to help with hormone production? Can anyone help or give advice. It has been 6 months (I know its not too bad) but I really want a child so much.

What causes an enlarged thyroid besides hormones and how is it taken care of?I have recently been diagnosed with an enlarged thyroid. the test they ran said that my hormones came back normal so that is not the cause. I am just wondering what I may be looking at and how they may go about helping me. does it involve surgery? can it be frixed with medication if its not hormonal?

How long does it take for vitamins to begin working?I have been losing a fair amount of hair, (considering I'm a 20 year old girl with no signs of thyroid problems or hair loss in my family) and I was told by quite a few people it had to do with vitamin, (specifically iron & b12) deficiency. for the last 3 days or so I have been taking iron pills and a multi vitamin but my hair is still falling out and I wanted to know how long vitamins took to have an affect on that sort of thing.. Can low thyroids be caused by pregnancy? Could that affect pregnancy test results?I'm young (21) and pretty healthy. Suddenly, in December, after I had unprotected sex, my periods were very light (1-2 days) for 2 months and skipped this month. I have all the signs and symptoms of pregnancy. I had a blood test for preg 1 week ago and it was negative and also tested for thyroids. My doctors called, suprised today to tell me I had low thyroids. I have read up on the symptoms but some still don't explain the weird dreams, gaining weight in stomach and breasts only, producing milky discharge from breasts, etc. I have a sister who didn't find out she was preg until 16 weeks through ultrasound. I've been tested for thyroids within the year. Why do I suddenly have it? Can I be pregnant and hypothyroid is caused by that ( I know it happens in pregnant women)? Can low thyroids affect pregnanct test? If pregnant I would be 13-14 weeks.

I've had a thyroid problem that has now been resolved but kept me from losing weight. I just started my Slim-Fast diet on 5/21. Currently take in no soda, have two Slim-Fast one for lunch and one for dinner. Two fruit or veggie snacks. Turkey or Chicken for dinner protein and a HUGE salad with limited Fat Free dressing. I need to lose at least 20 lbs. ASAP and any additional diet tips and exercises that will take inches of my waist and hips or thicken my neck would be helpful. Also walking/jogging 4.5 miles a day. I need to lose this weight so I can sign up for the Army!!!!
Can thyroid cancer cause hyper-/hypothyroidism?For hyperthyroidism, I know it's caused by nodules in the thyroid - are these nodules necessarily malignant? And can hyperthyroidism cause swelling of lymph nodes? How about thyroid cancer? For hypothyroidism, is there any way it can be realted to cancer?
Does thyroid mis-function cause nail discoloration?I have noticed discoloration of my nails on my fingers (almost all of them) have some sort of streaks and some form of semi dark lines. It seems to have started after Sub Acute Thyroiditis 2 years ago. Even though my thyroid fuction seems to have retruned to normal but these discolorations on my nails remain. Can you comment on this issue please. My dermotologist says that it is conclusive that it is related to my thyroid misfunction and unfortunately there is nothing he can do or subscribe to make it better.
My niece just found out she is pregnant. during her routine blood work she was diagnosed with a thyroid?disorder. Her TSH levels are very low indicating hyper thyroidism. However, she is very heavy, and has gained an additional 35 lbs in the last 3 months. One of her *freinds* told her that was a sign of a brain tumor! We are all freaking out, anyone out there have any thoughts?
Muscle cramps?I have been having muscle cramps everywhere on my body. Went to the doc and potassium, magnesium, calcium, thyroid, all came out alright. He took me off my meds thinking that might be the problem, but still having muscle cramps. I have them in the legs at nite and during the day I get cramps on my back, side and where my ovaries use to be. I drink plenty of water. Could this be a sign of something more serious?

Is it my thyroid or is it lymphoma?I've had swollen lymph nodes in my neck now for over a month, and just in the last two weeks a few more have seemed to pop out of no-where. I have headaches nearly constantly, keep gaining weight, can't sleep well but am really tired all day, have vertigo problems a lot, have really bad short-term memory and a really hard time concentrating.
