A question about thyroid nodule?During an ultrasound of my thyroid a small pea-sized "thyroid nodule" was found, but blood tests showed my thyroid is functioning fine. The doctor did not tell me whether it appears to be a 'hot' or 'cold' nodule -- though I read ultrasound can tell that. Anyways I am being sent to the specialist, probably for the needle thing. Can anyone who knows about this give me any insight? My age is 22.

Do you think I am abnormal?A good friend of mine found out that I am taking Apple Cider Vinegar pills, Trimspa, a multivitamin, CoQ10, B12, and Ginseng on top of my regular thyroid medication. She also found out that I go to pro-ana sites for tips on weight-loss.

If someone answers my question and includes a question in it, can I answer.?someone answered my question about iodine in salt and my goiter.Wanted to know if goiters are "coming back". There are fewer now because of the iodine put in salt. However, my .dr said they run in families. btw, they aren't called goiters anymore by drs. They are nodules on the thyroid.

Has anyone ever heard of a thyroid condition termed "Wilson's Syndrome"?I was discussing symptoms my mother was experiencing and someone mentioned this disorder. It differs from one known as Wilson's Disease and is less frequently diagnosed. Some of the symptoms included extreme fatigue, trouble swallowing off and on, depression, and more I don't remember. Her Dr. has screened her extensively and is at a loss. She is not a hypochondriac. I have not been able to find anything at all on this.

What is wrong with me?I have been trying ttc for a few months now and have not been successful. Lately I've been feeling pregnant but all of the hpt's are negative. I even had a blood pregnancy test done and it was negative. About 9 years ago I had been having some thyroid problems but everything was fine up until now. I noticed that I have another lump (nodule) in my neck due to hypothyroidism. Do you guys think that this could be a reason I can't get pregnant. Or could it be that I am pregnant and the thyroid problems are causing the hcg levels to increase slowly? I don't know what it could be, but everyone's opinion is greatly appreciated.

Food feeling stuck in chest-possible thryoid cancer - something else?Hello, I don't even know where to begin. I have a thyroid nodule that has been biopsed and I am waiting for the results. I can feel the nodule when I swallow. I am so nervous that I have thryoid cancer that I took anti anxiety pills, but now stopped. Took some trazadone to sleep but now stopped. I was getting sharp chest pains and felt food sticking in my throat halfway down in esophoges. So, I started prilosec thinking I might have GERD. Could stress cause GERD? Well, the chest pains are gone, but the food stuck in my throat feeling is still there. So, then I thought that was from the possible thyroid cancer. So I asked my endicrinologist and he said they are not related. So, I am at a loss what this is from. I am so freaked out I have cancer and it has spread down my esophages from my thyroid. Anyone know what this is from? Also, other symptom since this all started is morning congestion every morning. Never had that before either. (2 months now) Please help me?

I recently found out that I may have a thyroid disorder. Has anyone lost weight after medication?Over the last 8 or 9 months I have been gaining a little more weight than I ever have before. At about the same time my cycle got a little messed up too. I went to see my doctor and my thyroid screening came back abnormal. I have read that having thyroid problems can slow down and almost shut off a body's metabolism, so I'm thinking this would explaim my recent weight problems and inability to lost the weight. I was wondering if anyone who has a thyroid problem but is on medication has had similar weight issues and after the medication was able to lose the weight? how quickly did your body's metabolism bounce back after medication?

Does anyone know of any online resources for failure to thrive or growth disorder in infants? My son has been under the 3rd percentile for his weight since he was about 4 months old. He's now 15 months. I'm working with his pediatrician to try to find out the reason for this. He's on dietary supplements even (a soy "pediasure" due to diarreah/vomiting with milk products. He was breastfed as a young infant so we didn't know about the milk allergy until after he was one). He's been tested for cystic fibrosis and some other things with his thyroid. Those were negative but it did show that he had some sort of anemia. I'm looking for some scholastic resources that I can pass along to his doctor in the hopes that we can get him into a normal weight range. Thank you in advance for your help.

What do I do?I have stayed in touch with a friend of mine since junior high.We were always close but over the years we difted apart, hardly have anything in common and the only reason we still talk is because we have known each other for so long.I haven't seen her in over a year since her and her husband moved and hour and half away.Recently she has started calling me more and more and wants to make plans to hang out again but more on her terms instead of meeting halfway or coming to my town. She has also found out that she might have thyroid cancer and a degerative muscle disorder. The real reason for the delima is I ran into a guy we use to hang out with who told me he stopped talking to her when he found out about the dogs.He was shocked that I didn't know.As far as what she was doing with the dogs use your imagantion and I am not joking.I always knew she was a freak but never thought she would go that far.Should I confront her or just stop talking to her?

If we are "evolving" as a species why are there so many more....?mental illnesses? Why are people more depressed & schizophrenic? Why are we seeing bi-polar disorders & malfunctioning thyroids, osteoperosis, acid reflux, Chron's disease, Alzheimers, anxiety attacks, narcolepsy, as well as an increase in autism & ADHD in our children? Why is our cancer rate climbing? Why is AIDS wiping out so many people? Why do we have thousands of new medications on the market each year to combat the newest & latest malfunction of our bodies and/or our brains?

What do you do for restless leg syndrome and periodic limb movement disorder. Also have Fibromyalgia.?I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 11 years ago. Prior to that I was diagnosed with Hashmotos hypothyroidism, an auto-immune disease attacking the thyroid. 3 years ago, when trying to DC a med for Fibromyalgia, I learned that I had developed Essential Tremors. I'm suffering a3x3x2cm Thyroid Nudule over lower pole of right lobe & 1cm nodule on left, do I need operation?I had this problem since May 2005, at that time the sonography of bilateral thyroid glands was: multinodular goiter over both glands, maximal 2.2x1.19cm but now growing bigger, but it doesn't affect me from swallowing too much - I don't have symptons of hand-shaking nor difficulty in breathing or whatsoever. Although 'operation' is under consideration, but once I'm operated, I need to take thyroid medicine for the rest of my life. My problem is my thyroid glands are OK, only the Nodules. How can I remove the nodules without taking an operation? Thanks for your answer.

However, my thyroglobulin level is very high, 679 ng/mL compared to the normal range of 2.0 - 35 ng/mL. I know that other conidtions also cause elevated thyroglobulin level. But a level that is almost 20 times higher that normal makes me worry. Could experts on thyroid disease give me some advices? Thank you very much in advance.

Does anyone else have health anxieties that are controlling their life?I take medication for depression but what I really have is serious health anxieties. I'm 36 years old and feel like a sitting duck. Everytime I feel a lump or bump I start getting really nervous and think for sure it is cancer. Several months ago my doctor found 3 thyroid nodules and I had one biopsied and it was negative but during that time I already convinced myself I had thyroid cancer and I couldn't eat and I cried all the time. I'm suppose to go back to the doctor for another sonogram of my neck to see if they have grown and I won't go because I'm deathly afraid of doctors. Now I have been getting hot flashes so I've convinced myself it must be lymphoma. By the way my thyroid blood work is fine. Am I just one sick puppy or what? Please no mean comments.

Has anyone has a pituitary mass removed and then had thyroid problems after?I had a large pituitary mass removed in early May. My surgery was successful but 1 week and 2 days after surgery, I hemorraged out of my nose and mouth and lost 3 pints of blood. It has been 8 weeks and I am feeling somewhat better. I am still staying tired and I cannot hear good and my eyesight is blurry, but my main concern is, the Dr. found a pretty large nodule in my thyroid. I have been hoarse and my neck has been very sore, almost like I have been sleeping on it wrong, except my pain does not go away. Also, I have not been snacking or eating unhealthy but I have gained 15 lbs in a month and a half. I had an ultrasound of my thyroid earlier today and they were suposed to take blood but after 9 tries by 3 people, they could not get a vein to produce...Please help me. I am so stressed

Which is more accurate, a thryroid nuclear scan or ultrasound? My doctor ordered a thyroid nuclear scan and it showed a "hot nodule", then the ultrasound found nothing. Where do you think they will go from here? I don't want it ignored if something is actually there!

I know someone who has to take medicine for her thyroid so it works right. What is the name of the disorder?im doing a project in science and need to know

What causes one person to urinate more than another? My friends and I are pretty much the same in height/weight. We ran a test by drinking 2.5 liters of water each, in a 24 hour period; no caffeine, similar amounts of food, no exercise.

I need a outline on thyroid disore?I need a outline on thyroid disorder

What are the negative effects of prolonged statin usage? My doctor prescribed LIPTOR 10mg dose about 2 years ago for my then total cholesterol of 250mg/dl. Since the last 6 months I have been in ill-health with these symptoms:

I recently found out that I may have a thyroid disorder. Has anyone lost weight after medication?Over the last 8 or 9 months I have been gaining a little more weight than I ever have before. At about the same time my cycle got a little messed up too. I went to see my doctor and my thyroid screening came back abnormal. I have read that having thyroid problems can slow down and almost shut off a body's metabolism, so I'm thinking this would explain my recent weight problems and inability to lost the weight. I was wondering if anyone who has a thyroid problem but is on medication has had similar weight issues and after the medication was able to lose the weight? how quickly did your body's metabolism bounce back after medication? I'm not too worried about my weight and am just happy to know what is wrong with me. I was just curious if anyone has any personal experience on thyroid medication and weight loss.

Hair Loss...Help!!?Ever since I gave birth to my daughter 7 months ago I have lost so much hair. Every time I wash and condition my hair, it just comes out like crazy. I roll it into a ball as a size of a golf ball. I wash my hair every other day and hate to too because I freak out. At first my doctor said it could be my hormones, and then when my blood work came back everything was normal, when she checked my thyroid on my 6 week check up, that was fine. What else could it be? Currently I went to GNC and bought some Biotin shampoo and conditioner and some vitamins and it's still not working. My doctor still has me on prenatal as well. The only thing that has changed is I have been diagnosed with anxiety and panic disorder....which my hair loss causes even more stress. I don't know what to do, if you have any suggestions, please help me out. I need some encouragement or some other answers.

Could chernoblyl have affedted my daughters thyroid?as I have posted earlier my daughter aged 21 is currently awaiting ultrasound scan and fna biopsy on a calcified nodule which has grown from 8mm to aprox 2 cms{palpated by consultant} at the time of the chernobyl disaster she was 8 months old and we lived in an area of britain badly affected by the fallout and spent her early years playing on the beaches and in fields.does anyone know of any statistical evidence that points to a link, I know there are clusters of lukeamias in the area but havn't heard anything about thyroid cancer.I know that the fact that her age. a single calcified nodule which is growing does put her in a higher risk group.I would appreciate any infomation that anyone has.Thank you in anticipation

Does this sound like a thyroid disorder? Please read my previous question, linked below:

Can someone explain this?I've been having these symptoms and am thinking either a thyroid disorder or anemia. What else could it be? I'm a 17 year old girl if that helps. I know I should just go to the doctor, but my mom wont get me an appt. unless I can find a feasible reason as to why I should go.
